8th Grade Information & Events

IS 201's 8th Grade Graduation will be held on Monday, June 23, 2025. 

Each family will receive four (4) tickets.

Location:

Ford Amphitheater- Coney Island

3052 West 21st Street

Brooklyn, NY

Student arrival time is 8 AM. 

Commencement begins at 9 AM SHARP! 

June 4--8th grade dance--student cafeteria from 5-8 PM

June 23--Graduation is at the Coney Island Amphitheater at 9 AM. 

Students must arrive at 8:00 AM.  Each student will receive 4 tickets.  

June 24-8th Grade Carnival 

June 26--Last day of school

Promotional criteria for grade 8 students is as follows:

• • Students MUST pass all four major subjects: ELA, Math, Science and Social Studies in order to be promoted to high school.

Attendance at the graduation ceremony is a privilege and earned through meeting the promotional criteria and good behavior.  Students may be prohibited from attending the graduation ceremony and other senior activities due to disciplinary issues, attendance or lateness.

Criteria for attending senior activities are as follows: 

• Students must have Excellent (E) or Satisfactory(S) conduct each quarter.  

• Academic success in subject areas. 

• Students with poor conduct and/or referrals are not permitted to attend.
